Summer Home Styling: Preppy Patterns

Hello Friends!

I hope you are all feeling happy, healthy, and creative about the day ahead! Since starting my little side business on top of my other career, I felt a creative completeness I needed to fill! Since I'm an art lover, I thought I would create my own spaces with things I, and others can appreciate. I really enjoy making the world more beautiful and satisfying to the eye. If I'm not adding something fun to my wardrobe, I'm creating a space that is inviting and beautiful!

I try not to get overwhelmed. Enhancing a space with too much can be overload. Thats why I love to sell my beautiful pieces and make space for something new. I recently went to a interior designers home and found some pretty incredible things. I enjoy one of a kind things, which takes a lot of time, searching and digging from my part!

They really had some great style and it makes me happy when I can share such amazing pieces. Below are some photos of some pretty magnificent pieces I found! I included a funny selfie after all my hard work!

If you like any of these pieces, please visit my homepage on Etsy: Etoile du North

What's your sense of home style?

Summer Vibes: White Pants/Fresh Hair

Hello Friends!

I hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend with family and friends! I just wanted to share my deepest appreciation for those who have served and are serving our country. Thank YOU!

As the weather gets warmer, I can't wait to transition into cooler clothing. White is of course the go to color to keep you feeling fresh. I also think about cutting my hair shorter! Although, it does make me nervous since I have been growing it out for a year.

I really like the white pant suit. It looks very career professional to women who want to change up their black suits. I also like a wide leg linen pant, or a skinny denim pant.

Below are some fun ideas for summer hair and white outfit ensembles! Happy Summer!

Spring/Summer Wardrobe Snapshot: 2015

Hello Friends!

Gosh! It's been awhile since I last posted! Life transitions and things that happen in our lives makes it challenging to write weekly. I thought I would continue into my topic about style for the end of Spring transition into summer. I can't believe it's almost summer! It was 90 degrees in New York this past week. What happened to Spring? Do we just skip the Spring season altogether? I really hope not. In fact, Spring and Fall are two of my favorite seasons!

I prefer weather that you can pleasantly wear a light sweater and pants without bundling up or sticking to a seat. You can move around comfortably without a care in the world. I put together an in between list of things that can make you feel great and look exceptional. I hope you like these things as much as I do!

Spring/Summer Essentials:

1. Basic black, white and gray t-shirts
2. Dark Denim wash jeans
3.Denim or white overalls. (Not just for kids;)
4. Jumpsuits are back( black or white)!
5. Striped nautical shirt
6. Dusted Rose, or navy blazer
7. White linen or denim pants
8. Classic pair of espadrilles
9.Colorful heels
10. Classic Shades
11.Classic converse ( White. The best for summer)
12. Keep it simple with accessories in the summer. I barely like feeling weighed down.
13.Stay lighter on the scent. I love Bobbi Brown Beach!
15. Denim/Linen or white jean shorts
16. A cute floppy hat to protect your skin from the sun while staying stylish!
17. Camo in proportion (a jacket or shorts mixed with a print)

New York Fashion Week: Spring 2015

Hello Friends!

I hope you are doing well!  Last week was the end of fashion week and I wanted to write about some fashion inspiration I saw in the city.  Each morning as I'm headed to work, I grab the local paper and turn to the highlights of the recent runway shows.

I loved the floral look from Micheal Kors. His take on bright spring florals, gingham, and plaids were very refreshing. His designs gave me an overall spring "HAPPY" feeling.

The next designer I really enjoyed was Dolce and Gabbana. This look was based from a Spanish influence in Sicily between 1516 and 1713. Bright red lips, white peplum shirts and  black matador looking short shorts. Not sure what to wear? Just think, Red, Red and more Red.

Tom Ford's collection was described as long and lean, infused with rock 'n roll sensuality. Think black leather, sheer black hose, fringe, and metallic colors like silver and gold.

I noticed capes were still chic, overalls can be fun, and fringe were all being presented on the catwalk and on the streets of New York. White lace was a big hit in many runway shows, ( I should alter my wedding dress, and wear it out! Just Kidding)

I love the large brimmed fedora hats! Ralph Lauren had some amazing ones in his show. I keep seeing these leather mini backpacks all around the city. So Fun! I think the funniest runway goes to
Valentino for Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson's appearance for Zoolander 2.

Here are a few of my favorite styles from New York Fashion Week.  What was your favorite look?
