New York Apartment Style: Interior Design 2015

Hello!

Today I had a burst of creativity and decided to make 2015 a year of discovering my personal style. If you have ever heard, Coco Chanel once said this quote; " Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening." Wherever I go, I am inspired by creativity and the ability to want to make a space more attractive or inviting.

Now into my thirties, I feel a need to want to invest in things of quality, and items that will last many years. Since moving into our New York apartment, I want to use my personal style to create spaces that are comfortable, and encompass beautiful surroundings.

Since I have limited space, I pick things that can be easy to move around and not so massive. I find odds and ends everywhere I go. Last weekend I went to Chinatown and found a porcelain jar and a vase for decorative accents. White hydrangeas would look magnificent in them! These pieces really brighten up the winter blues and make me feel blissful looking at them!  Ralph Lauren home is my personal favorite! Below is my favorite Ralph Lauren Flagship Store on Madison Ave.

New York City has a flower district on 28th street near my work. I can't wait to venture there this spring! I also have some other pieces in my store that make me feel good!  I think I'm going to check out Antique Markets in Brooklyn, browse Estate sales for inspiration, and explore what the 5 boroughs have to offer. If you want to join me on my journey, come along!  I'm just getting my creativity engine started, so who knows what I'll find! If you care to check out my store, the link is below. What's your personal style?

Interior Design Color Inspiration: Gold and Marble

Hello Friends!

I recently became entranced on decorating my living space. Ever since I got married, I have envisioned a certain look that is sophisticated and timeless. My wedding colors were blush, cream, black and gold. I want to embody some of those color schemes into everyday living.

One look that I had in mind was gold and marble. There is something about the material of marble that really makes any space look rich an inviting. I remember interning at the Renaissance Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio. They showed me a beautiful marble bathroom that I couldn't stop looking at.

Yes, marble is expensive, but it will last for decades and stand the test of time. I always loved going into the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. For some of you that don't know what The Merchandise Mart is, I will tell you it's every interior designers go to place.

Waterworks had the best faucets, tile and bathtubs known to man. If you want to feel like a Grecian god...see here.

Here are just of few of my dream scales that I thought I would share with people who dream the same  dreams. Below are some of my pictures from our wedding. I just wanted to show you my color palette.

Color your life and make it yours!  Happy 2015!
